Thanks to Cam Longhurst for this photo. He says it was used as a postcard which his father mailed to his mother on
May 24, 1954. They were sailing the next day for Brest.
By using Google Maps, Cam was able to point me to the exact location of the jetty – Trekroner Fort is visible in the distance over the
foc'sle of HMCS Quebec.
This places the ship's location at Langelinie Quayside Pier, a huge jetty used by cruise ships today, and also the location of The Little Mermaid.
By using Google Streetview you can see the same scene as it was recently (search for Langelinie, Copenhagen on Google Maps).
