Susan Logue said in an email: " There is an interesting story behind this series of photos. They were all on a film found by a family friend the year my father died. She was an older lady, like a mother to my father. When he was on leave he always stayed with her and her husband. After father died she went through a box of letters he had written to her over the years he was in the Navy. In that box was this film. It was developed 46 years after my father took the photos in the early 1950's. When she took it in to be developed in 1996 she did not expect any photos would be any good. To her surprise these photos were great. She gave them to me after she had them printed along with some of his letters. This was an exercise off the coast of Portsmouth, England -- perhaps in 1952?
