Taken from the bridge of HMCS Ste. Therese. That's probably HMCS Jonquiere ahead, as she was senior ship of the squadron. I think that is the entrance to Tasu Sound, with the open ocean beyond.
This is a typical winter sea, probably in the area of the Queen Charlotte Islands.
