John William Cramer, formerly of HMCS Rainbow.
In November 2025 I exchanged emails with Graham Watts of the UK. He wrote in part: "I recently discovered that my Great Grandfather, John William Cramer was one of the original crew members of HMCS Rainbow when she set sail from Portsmouth in August 1910.
"His Royal Navy Service Records show that he transferred to the Canadian Navy on 18th July 1910 on board HMCS Rainbow until 12th November 1914 when he was transferred to HMCS Shearwater from 13th November 1914 to 5th December 1914 after which he returned to the UK."
Graham kindly sent me a photo of John William Cramer in his CPO uniform.
