HMCS Niobe, possibly William Rennie
I received an email from Stacey Haggerty, who sent me a scan of this sailor from HMCS Niobe which she found in her grandmother's papers.
She says in part: " My Uncle (George) Weldon Weaver married an Elizabeth Rennie and now I wonder if this may have been her brother. They married overseas which also could be why (if indeed the William Rennie in the census information IS her brother) that she did not appear in the household information. My grandmother was their caregiver for many years so this picture may have been in their possessions which she inherited after their passings. Unfortunately, my grandmother is also gone so I'm working on many assumptions until I can get better access to her papers. Hopefully that will also give me some more information about any siblings my Aunt Betty may have had. "
