Brian Lapierre says: " While on NATO on Margaree in 1977 I was working as the Flight Deck Electrician. Good air crew guys on that trip and the SAR Tech (they didn't call them that back then but I think they were called Observers or something like that) came up with the idea of riding the arrow hanging from the helicopter with smoke flares etc. Anyway we got permission from the Captain to do it so it added a bit of fun to the Margaree's sailpast. We fabricated the unit and of course it passed all safety inspections. The guy riding the arrow's name was Bobby Dolomont and I have never seen or heard of him since that trip. I have tried to find him to send him the photos but haven't had any luck.
" Riding of the arrow ranks right up there with water skiing from the Athabaskan in 1983 off of Scotland during our sailpast. Boy I sure wish I had my digital camera back then. "
