Iain says in part: " Third from the left is D.M. MacNeill, fifth from the left is Howard Buscombe
and next to him sixth from left is Steve "Butch" Ogradnick of the 1941 Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
. . . These three men were very close friends during the war years, responsible for
the training of a significant number of the Canadian Navy personnel who served with distinction in the Battle of
the North Atlantic. Howard Buscombe and Steve Ogradnick retired from the War to live their private lives in the
Aurora - Newmarket areas north of Toronto. Howard Buscombe bred horses until passing away in 1982.
