Larry Vipond says: " (this photo) was shot at HMS Eglinton in Northern Ireland probably in 1948, and shows the Servicing Crew of 803 squadron.

" The personnel for both newly-formed squadrons, 803 and 825, were shipped over to the R.N. Naval Air Station at Eglinton on HMCS Warrior. It was at Eglinton that both squadrons received delivery of their new aircraft -- 803 squadron receiving the new Seafury fighters and 825 squadron received its new Firefly aircraft, both British-built aircraft. You may notice that our hat ribbons show HMCS Warrior, but that soon changed. Four of the personnel in (this photo) were on loan from the Royal Navy.

" During this time, HMCS Magnificent was being completed at the shipyards in Belfast. When her sea trials were completed, the Maggie and her two squadrons departed for Halifax in 1949. "
