Sea Fury Aircraft Over Halifax, 1954.
Larry Vipond says:
" Here's a shot of a flight of 803 squadron's Sea Fury aircraft over Halifax in 1954.
The Sea Fury had a 2700 HP sleeve valve engine built by Bristol in England. The air frame was built by Hawker
Aircraft in England. The Sea Fury was arguably the fastest piston engine fighter ever built, including the
P 51 Mustang. I'm not sure if the RCAF even acknowledged that fact, however. If you have ever watched the Reno, NV.
air races you will see a privately owned Sea Fury still flying, but with a different engine and a four-bladed prop
instead of the original five-bladed prop. "
