Thanks to William Gard who submitted this photo sent to him by Don Ambler, of about 110 officers and men on the foc'sle of HMCS Drumheller. The first man identified is Irvine Ambler, who is dead centre and astride the 4" gun. Documents sent with the photo show that he served as a stoker on this ship from November 7, 1943 to June 20, 1945. The Rt Rev. William G. Cliff identified his father, Peter H. Cliff, as the left-most of the two men standing slightly apart, below and to the right of the Drumheller name-plate. He was also a stoker, and served on Drumheller from 1942 onward. He died in 2002.
