HMS Morecamb Bay assisted HMCS Quebec.
Yvan Martineau says: "HMCS Quebec suffered
damage to its desalinator from Hurricane Hazel, on the way to Dakar and had to be helped back to Bermuda for temporary repairs, and (had to) take
lots of beer and Coke on board as there was no drinking water. HMS Morecamb Bay brought us some fresh water (so we could)
limp back to Bermuda".
