Postcard of HMS Rainbow, 1911
Thanks to Michael DesMazes, an RCAF historian and postcard collector, for the images of this postcard of HMCS Rainbow, which was posted from Esquimalt May 5, 1911.
He said in part: "This postcard . . . is a real picture post card of HMCS Rainbow in Esquimalt. It was sent to England and signed simply 'Ken'. In the text of the message Ken mentioned that he recently joined the Canadian Navy and that 'This is a photo of the boat. Am doing a month's trial as Wireless Telegrapher'. Thanks to your site I believe I've confirmed that this Ken is none other than, Kenneth Cherritt who's trade is listed as 'Ord. Telegr.' "
